It's been a very long hiatus from the blog, so as I come back I want to share some lessons I've learned over the last few months. Some of these I already knew, but obviously needed a reminder course.

1. DO NOT MISS YOUR FLIGHT TO A BABY BLESSING IN IDAHO(For if you do, you will most likely be making a 15 hour drive with only three hours of sleep with a turn around in 24 hours.)
This is lesson #1 cause it was really our own fault, as traffic was pretty standard, but our timing was rather poor. So, it went from trying to catch a flight out of Long Beach on a Friday afternoon, to trying to make it up to Idaho in time for the blessing of Baby G less than 24 hours later. It was a rush to get there, but we did make it with about one hour to spare. This was so worth it. Getting to spend time with my little nieces Baby S & Baby G.

2. BOYS & SPORTS WILL ALWAYS GO TOGETHER.
Let the love of the Dodgers continue from generation to generation.
I think Damon & Derick had a great time just seeing the legacy passed down to K (our nephew).
3. MEN ARE THRILL SEEKERS
On our to Idaho Damon wanted to stop and ride the roller coaster at Buffalo Bills, but we were in such a rush he had to wait till our trip back. Even though I wasn't feeling very well I gathered my strength and my stomach as we made our way through the casino.
It was a pretty good ride, but it didn't help my not feeling so well.
4. SUMMER SUNSETS WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE I've always loved the beach, and with my Damon studying for his CPA exams this last year and a half the beach and I have become distant friends. This photo reminds me of not only the End of Summer, but how much I look forward to it coming back and spend full days at the beach.
5. COTTAGE CHEESE CEILINGS ARE NO FUNWe bought our first place this year and with it came the taking down of cottage cheese ceilings. Damon thought this should be easy enough and so the task began one Friday night and continued till midnight, then resumed the next morning till Saturday evening.
5a. FAMILY IS AMAZING! - Damon's brother, Derick, came over and helped. It would have taken much longer if Derick had not come help almost all saturday till the job was done.
6. WAIT FOR YOUR HUSBAND TO MOVE THE HEAVY OBJECTS
My work was getting rid of this great desk and since Damon was so great to get it up to our place on his own, I thought it only fair that I finished the job getting it into the office.

Some images might be disturbing to some viewers
While attempting to move this desk on my own I managed to drop it with in the first few minutes. The following images are stuff the desk left its signature on along the way.
MY POTTED PLANT
(lucky it was a $1 pot from Target)
MY FAVORITE PICTURE FRAMES
(tiny pieces of glass are best picked up with duct tape and a vacuum)
THE NEW HARD WOOD FLOORS
(The Home Depot carries Wood Floor Stain Markers, Thank goodness)
MY LEG!
(The bruise got much worse, but I have now learned to get the heck out of the way and just let the thing fall. Or better yet... Leave the heavy lifting to my husband.)
7. ROLLER SKATING IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART
For Colette's 6th Birthday I took her roller skating. Since I hadn't gone is what seemed like hundreds of years I wasn't sure how I was going to do, but seeing my Mom skate circles around Colette and I, I knew I couldn't fall. This was a MUST STAY STANDING situation.
Dad took down one girl, and Colette and I took one girl down together, so in the end Mom won. She was just cruising the whole time.
8. MY HUSBAND WILL ALWAYS BE A RAIDER's FAN.
We attended our second Raider's game a couple of weeks ago. They won (shocking I know), and he was so PROUD. Raider Nation for Life.
9. COUPLE TIME IS SO VERY IMPORTANT
We took a road trip up to San Louis Obispo and got to spend a couple of days after the Extension Tax Season with just to two of us. Everyone at our work places were treating us like we were going on a second honeymoon. At first I wasn't sure how to take all the comments, but then I was thankful we got to get away for an last minute "Second Honeymoon."
and Last but not Least...
10. HOLIDAYS & BIRTHDAYS ARE TO BE SPENT WITH FAMILY
This year I've spent my first holiday with out my family, and especially during this wonderful time of year it reminds me of how the decorations, trees, presents, or food is only good when shared with family.
So, decorate your home, bake cookies, and Celebrate our Lord and Saviour's birth with your family.
